New Briggs Models products

Please excuse my ignorance on where to post in this forum. I don't want to step on toes, but I seem to have lost my previous post.

I have introduced in the Briggs Models (www.briggsmodels.ca)  product line some new items in the last couple months, but I am looking towards doing some more locomotive and perhaps caboose projects in the near future, rather than just detail sets. With the success of 3d printed mechanism parts, I am not tied to any particular chassis. In the past, HO cabooses have been very popular for me, and I was thinking that accurate N scale cabooses might also be a good market to target.

I have looked around for surveys pointing at interesting new products that modelers are dying for, but I haven''t found anything overly useful. I don't produce ready to run items, but only resin cast shells and details, some etched and laser cut parts, and 3d printed plastic items. Suggestions anyone? It is usually worth it for 40-50 of any given model. There is a page on my website I am using to list proposed projects, and soon I will be introducing a poll on what should be coming up next.

"If" you were to get into the caboose market, railroad specific transfer cabooses might be a good choice. I am thinking the PC/CR N11.

Honestly, I would say keep going with the shell kits. U boats for the Atlas U23B. CF-7 for the GP15. SW1000, SW1001. B30-7A. How about cab/nose kits for railroad rebuilds of SD40-2/SD50/SD60M?

If you feel ambitious, what about a Pullman/Bombardier Comet II commuter kit? These were uses all over the nation and in Canada.

great to hear from you Jeff!  Your H Liners and cabooses remain the pride of the C&W fleet!

If we are in the domain of niche products like transfer cabooses how about shorty plows and/or flangers?

As an accessory, how about AAR truck sideframes to convert the Blunts on Atlas S2's to something closer to an S4?  I'd place an order for 1/2 dozen sets out of the gate

Steam locomotive cabs? A number of roads had the cab fronts slanted.

How about a BC Hydro caboose,Atlas has done the MP15's so a caboose would be a natural.

I'll toss my hat in the ring and request a WOOD sided bay window caboose.  To my knowledge, there has never been a single one made in N Scale.  Personally, I would want some for SP&S, but many railroads had them.

Perhaps by making a variety the little bay sides as add-on parts, the same car could be used for more than one road to make the kit
more versatile.

It would even be fine to design it to fit a commercial underframe, although parts for the end platforms and the steps would have
to included in the kit.

Quite different than the Bay Window cabooses of the NP which the SP&S used as the design for theirs.

I would like to start by vouching for the quality of Jeff's offerings. Jeff has been in this industry for longer than many of us have been modellers and has been producing quality N scale kits starting at a time when I don't think anyone else was.

I have built Kaslo kits that were Jeffs, plus all of his BCR offerings and each one was worth the price and produced nice models.

Now that I've said such nice things, for Christmas I would like:

BCR 52'6" flat cars
BCR gondolas
BCR wood chip gondolas
BCR 72' bulkhead flat cars
Reading single window commuter cars (used in excursion service on BCR)
Jordan spreader (with the big cab up front)
Russel plow (poss exCPR? as seen on BCR)
BC Hydro cabooses
VIA Rail F40ph (to fit the Kato mech)
ICG caboose as seen in work service on BCR
Both versions of BCR GMD SD40-2 (102" nose- the Intermountain model is OK but it's still not right and it's not a Kato) also useful for CPR modellers.
CPR wide vision caboose.
CPR steel end cupola caboose.

I've also enjoyed building @briggsmodels and kalso kits in the past.

If you are looking for CNR project ideas, i have 3 locomotives that could be inteesting. To go with the mlw theme of some of your current offerings, no one has yet produced rsc13 or rsc24 locomotives. And to go with your previous CLC kits, my railroad sure could use an H-12-64! These niche locos all ran on many canadian national branchlines, and are likely never going to be produced by any other manufacture.

On the freight car front, what about the cnr GS gondola?

Some GN/NP plywood-side cabooses would be nice. And a 60' Gunderson chip car, ala SP&S.
