I just voted for diesel-era 20th Century and heavyweight Lark. Both are losing badly.
If they do the Lark, hope it isn’t like their last sets, where they had dome cars, chair cars, etc. Except for the articulated diner/kitchen/lounge, it was Pullman sleepers. Even the observation car was 2-1-1, in front of the lounge.
Being a WM steam guy, I look at these things in terms of what parts might be available for kitbashing/scratch-building. The Hudson would make some cool things available, but what did the SP use to pull the 1941ish Lark? Was that a GSx - 4-8-4?
Besides, Mr. Kato is known for his affinity to produce clean, wholesome train "sets", rather than the more usual collections of mixed cars found on majority of North American railroads.
Can you imagine a more "wholesome" train set than this one?
I voted for the 20th Century Limited with Es with the hopes of E7s for a SP/RI Golden State Limited and the post 41 Lark being the counterpart to the Daylight.
