Been waiting for the flexi Van flats, I emailed Pat and he said he hopes to ship them Monday, looking forward to these. Also requested ICG trailers. So if you been waiting for the flats they should arrive soon.

Oh my heart dropped cus I don't remember ordering any and I want some . Then IIRC these were type 4 (IX) which were post 1960s builds and as such not in my era .

Edit I need the Mark II which are 80 feet long and designed for 1 40' and 1 35' trailers built in 1957 Pat , please .

Their Flex-Van trailers, sans wheels, are what go on these? Or is Trainworx going to produce wheelless FlexiVans specifically for these cars?
Didn't MILW and the IC also run these cars?

IC ran Mk II (or maybe it was Mk I), in passenger trains The Trainworks car is later (maybe Mk IV?).  The N Scale Kits car is Mk II would be much closer.
Sorry I can't be more precise.

Not my era, but these are way cool, and fills a much needed void.

Did I do this right? This is a Mark 3 car. I bet the trailers do not belong on Mark 3s eh?

By the way, what NYC trailers belong on the Mark 4s?

Oh, and what couplers do these use? One of my cars arrived with broken couplers.

Had a broken coupler on the one I bought as well. I used parts from a #1015 to repair it.

Mine finally showed up.
There are variations between the NYC and Merchants Dispatch cars.
Different truck centers, brake detail, jacking pads. Probably more that I missed.
After adding the containers, they are right on the NMRA weight RP.
Trainworx did a nice job with these. Just need more NYC & PC trailers.

These are really nice modles. I am glad I bought some of them.

But I can't find pictures of the NYC Flexi-Van III on RR Pictures Archives.

Any idea where to look for pictures? I bet the white didn't stay very clean.

Javier,
Take a look through the pictures here:
http://www.canadasouthern.com/caso/nyc-freight.htm

There are a couple shots of Flexi-Vans towards the top, and then quite a few more pictures down past the boxcars and hoppers.  And you're right, they did not stay very clean.

I was just looking through some of the pictures, and this one caught my eye.  I hadn't ever seen an open top Flexi-Van with a canvas covering before:
http://www.canadasouthern.com/caso/images/hurley-8.jpg

Pretty cool.  Would make for an interesting modeling project.

-Brian.

Anyone know where these might be available to buy? I am looking for the Mark III versions. My usual online pushers are out! MBK, BLW and N-Scale Supply.

Another short run from Trainworx.....

I really should have known better... :x

Thanks!

Dan
