Looks like we really need some Redbird GP9s! (or Bluebirds too!).

Either that or some E-units:

755 is a class PN Pullman parlor car modified to a coach.
The description in the October Micro-News states that the car was built by Bethlehem, which would make it a PH; yet the roadnumber is from the PN series of cars built by Pullman.

Strange that MTL did this car in the early "&" scheme ...

It was in the classic "NORFOLK AND WESTERN" probably 1946-1954.

I am surprised that MT is confusing the issue the way they are.  The number is clearly the rebuilt Pullman parlor car 755, which they could have more accurately modeled with their parlor car model. If they wanted a stand in for the Bethlehem cars, which were single window (AFAIK), it would seem to make more sense to wait a couple months until their single window car body is in production.

Well, I guess I will never understand marketing departments, and marketing departments will never understand me.

MTL copy on this month's release (from their website https://www.micro-trains.com/archives/mediakit/medkit1710.html):

This 78’ heavyweight paired-window coach is maroon with buff lettering and runs on 6-wheel passenger trucks. Built by Bethlehem Steel in the 1910s in order to help replace aging wooden cars, this car served until the mid-to-late 1960s before being retired. N&W used this car in mainline passenger trains.

As modified by me:
This 78’ heavyweight paired-window coach is maroon with buff lettering and runs on 6-wheel passenger trucks. This model represents car 755 which was originally a Pullman parlor car which was purchased by N&W in February 1941. N&W completed the conversion to coach in April 1941. Built by Pullman (original name Allegra) in 1911, this car served until August 1954 when it was converted to MOW service.

@High Hood - I haven't forgotten your request - hopefully this weekend. :D

Mark5,
Your copy is much better. After thinking about it, I assume they did not use the parlor car model because the interiors are not interchangeable (although a "rebuilt" chair or coach interior to fit the parlor body would be a good product for the secondary market).  As  to why pretend it is a Bethlehem car and then give it that number... probably just a mistake.

If you are a manufacturer looking for a consultant to review details like this, I will take payment in N scale passenger car models (prototypes between 1895 and 1956).
