Some of the Wabash coaches were paired window with a single window in the center on each side (5 pairs, 1 single, 5 pairs) and even some of their modernized coaches retained that pattern.  At least one made it through the merger, but with some modifications

522 (former Wabash 1222). Built by ACF in 1912. Converted to MOW in 1970.

Wabash also had some coaches (N&W 1800-1823) built by ACF in the 1920s.

Here's 1801 (former WAB 1228): http://rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2228388

Tom D:  I wondered about the source for the second series of CC smoothsides.  The first were Sekisui (Kato) from the late 60s, and very nicely done, although the windows, at least on the dome car, are a little tall.  For the time, they were among the best cars made.

The second series, including this baggage car, came in the late(?) 70s, and had numerous problems, although the baggage car turned out well.  Besides the reversed diner, the vestibule doors on the sleeper were too short, which made it look a little odd.  And, if the sleeper was supposed to be a GN car, it is also reversed, although that isn't noticeable on a sleeper.  I bought several of them for my GN/BN/Amtrak trains, but built my own diner from styrene sheet and a Rivarossi baggage/RPO car, as the kitchen being on the wrong side of the car is very obvious!  Today I'd use brass sides, if available, but as mine turned out well enough I've kept it.

My most recent CC cars are Budd cars that are labeled "made in China."  I assume their current smoothsides are as well.  It may be that between Japan and current production, they made some in the US in the 80s or 90s.

I gave up rivet counting when I couldn't see an N scale rivet anymore.

Purchased from Pullman in 1941 and converted to coaches. These went to MOW starting in 1946 - with all but 6 converted to MOW by 1950. The remaining six lasted until 1954, when they too were converted to MOW use.

Some were rebuilt to combines in '47 instead of being transferred to MofW service.  Those cars were later rebuilt to MS1 storage mail cars (which included the only Plan 3416 car that N&W acquired, which wasn't converted to a coach before hand)...

Thank you for all the info. Do we know what other cars beyond the sleeper and baggage car will be offered by Microtrains in N&W?
Modeling Southern and N&W in the southeast.

@Mark5 could you post a pic of the Rapdio PM? I'd like to see how Rapdio's red compares to the other brands.

Presumably any dealer who buys from MTL directly, as well as any dealer that buys from Walthers.

755 is a class PN Pullman parlor car modified to a coach. N&W acquired these in 1941 and quickly converted them to coaches. This particular car (755) was modified in August 1954 to MOW service.

Prior to being sold to the N&W, it was originally in service on the NYC.
Eventually sold by the N&W to the Norfolk, Franklin & Danville in March 1976.

After that, did it ever make it to the NS roster?
