I had a little bit of free time today, so I retro-fitted an ESM X58 Keystone cushioned underframe to the new MTL modernized PS-1 model. In addition to having body-mounted extended draft gear, the ride height looks a lot better. Still too tall in the body, but much better.

I had to be home today because we are having some work done to the house. I couldn't resist the sale on Bachmann DCC NW-2's either. I spent this morning modifying the Life-like shell and Bman chassis so the two could mate. I did give up the back headlight. :( Next, TSC's.

Did the EL own 45 ft trailers?  I thought those came after the EL became part of Conrail.

I don't think so, but that didn't stop Micro-Trains from producing them and EL modelers from buying them   :facepalm:

Greg:  Thank you.  I thought maybe they were one of the earliest purchasers, and I just never noticed the longer trailers in Northwest in the early 70s.

I'm a bit late to the party this week, but while I had my Z-scale layout set up last weekend, I took some additional photos while I had the chance. I weathered the hopper cars many months ago, but this is the first time I've photographed them. The truck and trailer are 3D printed items that I painted.

Looks like the grass works best in Z scale . So does that tell us something ........... would longer grass .......... , does it come in lengths ?
