Bigger intercooler is the most obvious, Hi-Ad trucks on most if not all, although (...IIRC...) a few late C630s may have had Hi-Ads as well. Also bigger radiator with an additional hump ahead of the radiator.

Thanks!  So there were only 63 of C636 ever made, owned by 5 7 railroads. Now I see why that this loco is a good candidate for a custom 3D-printed model.

Some N&W 630's had Trade in trucks from Trainmasters and some Reading 630's had Hi-Ads.

The SP&S (and eventually BN) C636s had hi-adhesion trucks too.

A little late, but I did recognize it.  Modeling the 1974 BN, I could use one, but as far as I know they never made it east of Spokane.  Any SP&S loco was an unusual sight in the Montana Rockies.

I'm rooting for an RS-27. It would be a snap-on, or nearly so, on an Atlas RS-11 chassis. If I didn't have a million other half-finished projects on my bench I'd take it on myself.

That gray/black/white scheme was on a three-unit demo set that was all over the place.   It ran on the ATSF and reportedly blew some traction motor blowers, and that may be why they never ordered any.    But this is truly a case that if you really like these and your prototype never had any, do up the demonstrator set in the Alco scheme that was on the national tour.    And the two of them that were sold to M-K also had rather well-travelled histories and a nice paint scheme, make up a story to fit your layout.

I always thought it was ironic that the Rowa/Con Cor models had about the same reputation for their scale as the real ones did for Alco.  Blew motors and smoked, yep, got that.
