KATO Announcement
« on: June 13, 2017, 09:11:54 PM »

I may have missed this some time ago but today I received a KATO e-mail announcement regarding the now available P-42, E-5's and F7's (for Milwaukee Road  set) as having installed DCC Sound. I checked their web page and found the announcements but could not find any mention of decoder brand. Does anybody know? ?

I think it is non-sound DCC..I received the email as well.

They (Kato-Kobo) were using TCS and/or Digitrax decoders in the past from what I recall. I have a SD70ACe with a Kobo installed TCS decoder. I also have a VRE Commuter cab car with a Kobo installed Digitrax decoder for lighting.

If they do have one with sound, my guess would be ESU, like my SDP40F was.

I believe the announcement only mentioned DCC, not sound.

Nice!

Yeah, unless you're now regretting ordering the DC engines... :|

Try using flavorful ingredients and you won't need to add 'flavor' after the fact.

I sometimes eat ketchup by itself - it is quite tasty.  :D

I don't want to go too far afield. but were there dreadful errors in the IM ones (either the originals of 10? years ago or the more recent re-issue)?  I have a couple, and might question the specific hue they chose for C&EI (but may be just one of those inside lighting v sunlight things), but overall think they look pretty good and mine run well.  Reviews I read when they first came out were generally good.

The Model Power, I would agree, were hardly first rate- the chassis reminded me of something from 20 years earlier, it's loud (compared to a Kato), and the nose profile looks wrong to me (I do have one of those too).

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.
