Yeah, not only pricey, but that would make for some mighty heavy loads unless they figured a way to lighten the model.

Given the way those are priced, I would have expected a GMC with 4 wheel drive and a snowplow.

As an example of inflation, in the 1970s, I bought my first N scale road diesel, an Atlas/Roco GP9 (it may really have been a GP18, but said GP9 on the box) for $24.95, and now you can't get a pick up truck 2 pickup trucks with no motors for that.

That shot with 15 is all Couriers, their compact truck at the time. Full-size trucks like the F-series won't fit on triple-deck cars designed for sedans.

So it will only cost you $300 $150 to fully load a double-deck car.

EDIT: Oops.   Still not cheap.

A nice little model, to be sure, although I feel there is a certain roughness to the finish that I would normally not expect from Atlas (perhaps it is a test model).  I think though that I am hitting saturation on the pricing of these kinds of things.  As an odd model or two this is OK, but the notion of filling a street, parking lot or even an auto rack to me is pushing the limits.

Why, are they made out of lead? 
Usually Atlas automobile models are made out of plastic with axles being the only metal part. That can't weight all that much.  Besides, most N scale railroad cars are usually way too light to begin with.
