I was just looking at it for reference in @Petty Cash 's layout discussion and I realized that I built my first winter scenery over 10 years ago. Wow.

I want to say "oh how far I've come", but really, I think it still looks pretty decent compared to my current stuff.

But still, I can't believe that was over ten years ago.

The Juniata Division turns 11 this year...

But your kidney layout was the main inspiration for me to "kick it up a notch" with the addition of Supertrees.

Like @chuck geiger that layout is a big piece of why I'm here. And yeah it does look pretty good still. Now go finish the street running in York.

I'm actually working my way to that now, although I AM still a little bit intimidated by it...

And thanks guy! I'm legitimately flattered.

@Ed Kapuscinski,

I'm a big fan of your work, too, and it was very humbling when I received your invitation on the A-Board to come over here.  That was back when I was working on the Virginia Central, which went to live in Centreville about eight years ago!  (@RockGp40 can confirm that.)   Where'd that time go?!

Ed,

Boy, those were the days.  I remember seeing that door layout in your apartment when I came to Timonium many years ago.

The scenery on that layout is terrific.  The ground cover, trees, and the look of the right-of-way were excellent.  You probably remember taking photos of my PRR steam on that door layout.  Ha!  The track and ground cover was the best thing in the photos.

This is spectacular modeling, this is inspiring and shows how the bar raised. 8). I'm just bought some super trees this makes me want to get them on the layout.

I thought current photos would show a MUCH more dense forest :-)

That was my goal!

The first time I saw Lance's Monon, I said "I'm gonna do that". I haven't looked back since.

Things actually came full circle when he came to check out my current layout a few months ago.

I've always loved the photos you get off this layout.

Thanks!
It was a lot of fun, and so fundamental to my learning of how to do this stuff. For example, I learned that I DON'T need to static grass everything...

It was the building block that has then, later, allowed me to do this:
