Rumors of our demise are premature.

Passing this along...

There is a rumor circulating that began on a forum thread that was needlessly allowed to continue without confirming directly with us if the rumor had any truth to it.  This rumor is absolutely not true.  We have no intentions of discontinuing production of our Z scale line.
Our Z scale line not only will continue, but will continue to expand with the release of a Heavyweight Modernized Business Car this coming fall, as well as the reintroduction of our SD40-2’s in the near future.
We would appreciate your help in sharing with any of your friends and contacts that the rumor is totally false.
Thank you,

That is the first I heard of this (but I live sheltered life).  But whoever started the rumor should be given at least some Internet demerits.  :x

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

I don't think it is on this forum.   But I agree that no matter what forum it was on, Joe should request a deletion.

"Fake News" reporting that was not moderated on a model railroad forum?

Like peteski, I must be leading a sheltered life, as this is the first time that I have been made aware of such a claim.

For a company who is supposedly exiting Z-Scale production, there have certainly been an awful lot of new Micro-Trains Line Z-Scale related product announcements and releases.

Although there are plenty of gullible individuals utilizing unreliable Internet resources as fact based data references, most educated people understand that information that is not garnered from reliable sources (who typically cite the origins of their original source material) or "straight from the horse's mouth", is either an author's opinion (i.e., commentary that may be disguised as news) or dubious at best.

While the aggrieved are obligated to challenge bogus claims and/or facts, ending fake news reporting on the Internet is akin to playing a game of whack-a-mole.

I'm on that forum.

The guy posting this would not reveal his sources, and he is always posting "the sky is falling" stuff. No one took his post as credible.

I expect to be buying Z scale stuff from MTL for a long time.

Shipsure:  Are there any plans for future Nn3?  Or is the market too small to be worth the effort?

Rumor has it they're getting out of Z scale to make room for Nn3.

So contrary to company name, Micro Trains is not a company with an incredible shrinking number of z scale offerings.  :D

But it must have struck a nerve somewhere to warrant the official response across the forums.  I hate to think our culture has degraded to the point, where so few people care about sources and fall for any internet trolling they come across, that reputable companies need to dedicate resources to dispel them.  :?

In any case, with AZL's SD70ACe, Atlas's flex, and more recently, I sense Z Scale is on the edge of a major rise.  It would be foolish for an established brand to end their Z line right now, not to mention anyone trying to convince people of the same.

I thought all trains were born Z scale...after care and feeding they grow to Nn3 and finally N where they are sold off (not wanting to allow them to grow to HO or bigger). Therefore, they can't do away with Z unless they are planning on more trains reaching N maturity...
