I purchased a few used engines from N Scale Supply last year and had them in 2-3 days.

A few years earlier I had ordered some track, etc.  from them and after 2 weeks nothing had arrived. I contacted them and was told it was on order and coming and if I canceled it I would never be able to order from them again. I let the order stand and had the items in another week. So, yes, I guess they do stock very little and order it. With the exception of used items I have purchased from them, I shifted back to my faster, stalwart suppliers.

If they told me that, they wouldn't have to worry about me ever ordering from them again.

The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

I saw a couple things on the preowned page and checked out. I had the tracking # the next day and in my hands in less than a week. I've ordered about a dozen times in 15 years and always received them quickly.

Sorry to go off-topic, but about the preowned rolling stock: I have a sh!t-ton of N scale that I want to sell.  While the locomotives will be easier to sell on eBay, I don't feel like listing all of my freight and passenger cars on eBay, not to mention the average person doesn't want to pay $7.00+ for a single car to ship it by USPS Priority Mail (my preferred method).  I combine shipping, but it really comes down to not wanting to spend hours listing all of the cars individually (and then shipping them).

So, if I were to just send it all to N Scale Supply, does anyone have any idea of how much they pay typically?  I recognize that they want/need to make a profit, and I'm willing to take a hit to dispose of it all in one transaction.  I'm just curious as to how they pay.

Thanks,
DFF

Don't want to sell them on TRW?  I would think it's less hassle than eBay but then we're a bunch of  :ashat:.

Dave, get on the N scale yard sale groups, either Yahoo or Facebook or both. I've had good success both selling a block of stuff and buying items, particularly the FB group lately,

I have no problem with selling on TRW (I'd prefer it!), but there's been little interest in my rolling stock (assumed due to era or roadname) over the years when I tried before.  I suppose I could try again.  Stay tuned.

Thanks, guys.  I'll try TRW first and then go to the N Scale Yard Sale sites.

Pre owned and used stuff are things that can not be ordered or offered after a customer makes a requests for them . Those things must be already on the shelf and ready to ship . Which leaves so far very few happy campers in the ordered and came fast list so far .

No experience with N Scale Supply regarding this @davefoxx but a couple of other inquiries along similar lines with other vendors yielded responses of around $1.50-$2.00 per car siting the abundance of Micro-trains N Scale cars hitting the markets from estates and sales similar to this.

I was tempted to cancel it but I figured starting over elsewhere  would only delay things more. I thought their reply a bit abrupt and haven't gobe back except for used stuff I know they have.

Group:
Never have had a negative experience with N Scale Supply. Scott has always treated me fairly and often went out of his way to accommodate my orders when I was posted overseas. Not being from the "entitlement" generation, I placed my orders fully expecting that Scott would get around to shipping when he had the goods and particularly when the MT monthly order arrived at his shop and not before. When I first shifted to N Scale, he often would advise that perhaps I should not buy X but instead buy Y for various reasons.

Having visited his place on a trip to Denver, he opened the doors and let me look around when he was not exactly a brick and mortar store. Have bought from him since he was first in business. No regrets dealing with him. Does not mean that he is my only pusher, I started out in the fifties buying from my Balt'mer based firm who had a large brick and mortar and thus had stock in hand and still buy from both. Nonetheless, IMHO, Scott is OK by me.

Kind regards,
Bill
