SouPac U33C...the extra battery boxes

I know Sunrise made the Gyralite for the roofs of SP U30/33C models, but did they also happen to make the fireman side walkway mounted battery boxes as well?

No, N Scale of Nevada did. It was part of the U33C conversation kit.

And when those are no longer obtainable, they would be perfect item to be 3D-printed on Shapeways. Maybe @Lemosteam could offer them in his non SPF range of items.  :D

I got mine out of pure luck 7 years ago...before that, I didn't know that they existed

Oh, SPF would still apply, it would just stand for Southern Pacific Fanatic instead of Slobbering....

Battery boxes could be part of a new S2PF line of products :D :ashat:

Radiators for the Kato U30C are available:

I've got the radiator from Shapeways saved on my favorites, but I might just as well get a C30-7 shell for the nose and cut out the radiator section for the U33C and not deal with the printing resolution issues. I have the Gyralite and MbE has the bell I need as well as a Nathan P3, so I'm set with everything but the battery boxes. NS737, I'm sending a PM about the boxes.

I made my U36C using the C-30-7 radiator section off another shell, and for a 'close enough' I'm quite happy with it.

I'll also say that I'm a lot more interested in getting handrails and grabs right than what door latches are on the right version.  I did, however, have to extend the battery boxes on the LH side of mine, that was pretty obvious to spot if it was wrong.

First order #8710 - note the extended battery boxes on LH side:  http://www.railpictures.net/photo/587123/

This is one of only two locomotives I own that isn't weathered at all - I'm modeling the same month they were delivered.  Actual gloss finish.

Some of the U36C's late-model had similar stacked double-boxes, mine didn't, but if you have two shells to hack up it's not that hard to cannibalize.  You may be able to pick up a second shell for not much more than you'd pay for a Shapeways part.

The high stacked battery boxes on the second order of U36C's made the left-hand side possibly the all-time most awkward-looking warbonnet scheme ever:

Sure but I need some desired dimensions, W & L & H.  I can mimic the details on the boxes.  Just would want to make sure they fit the walkway.  I have no U-anything models.
