Awesome video, but you might want to put a warning to turn down your volume before viewing.  Very loud ear piercing whine  :scared: :scared:

Over in Ed K's NW2 thread, he showed off his custom insert design skills and I asked about doing some for my Gettysburg units I did a few years ago.  Here are the results

Cool inserts! :o

After replacing the speaker with an 8x12mm speaker and modifying the sound enclosure, I finally got around to painting up my undecorated Atlas S2 in SP scarlet and gray....

I've been working on a stock box for my 2mm models. One of the problems with building things from kits is they can't go back in their boxes afterwards. I still need to add dividers between individual items, then I need to make a second one to go above (or bellow) this one to fill up the plastic box.

The way you made the box is fine for displaying your models.  But if this is for transporting models then to me it makes more sense to equally space all the dividers to the width of the models. Model trains all have fairly similar width. That way you can store any model in any slot.   For the depth you  use the height of the tallest model you will store. Now the storage container has universal fit.   That is how the box I use to transport my N scale models to the shows is built.

Last weeks project. Oil pump jacks are installed and ready for some weathering:

Thanks,

Working on some markers lights for a C40-8 for a friend. I had a little bit of light leaking into the headlights but I was able to fix that with a little paint.

I love everything to do with model trains but lighting always gets me going. Even more than sound. Nice job!  Are you going to leave them crazy bright or put a larger resistor on to bring them down to a more subtle level?

Been on a weathering kick lately. These Trainworx gons are really nice. Wish the layout had better lighting though.

Yeah, but then you can't find anything. I talked to a bunch of other 2mm modellers and everyone agreed that it was a tossup.

I handlaid my first ever turnout today! N scale code 40, number 6 using the FT jig. Chris333 helped with some guidance and getting set up, so much thanks to him. Still need to gap the frog and ties but need a finer blade on my jeweler's saw. I won't be using this turnout on the layout, but I learned plenty and the next should go better. Mostly notching the stock rails better and getting a hang of precise soldering, which was already improving as I went along.

Tom L, the gondola looks great. The road name helps too  8)

edit: forgot the guardrails too, they are still on the bench. That's what the next one is for right :D

Thanks Craig. I have a 1K resistor for the lights right now, but I'm thinking a 1.5K might get them just the right brightness.
