Budd – RDCs – They are back!

After a long hiatus, we are excited to announce the return of the Budd RDCs, and in all new road names! The first new road of the series is Trinity Railway Express. We have two road numbers available.

62218-1 TRWX Budd RDC 2005
62218-2 TRWX Budd RDC 2012

YESSSSS!!!!!

After a bunch of false starts trying to create a few of these in n-scale years ago, this release really makes my day.

The Trinity Railway Express RDC's are the main ingredient in what I think makes the TRE a really unique and interesting railroad to model.   To quote my blog: "I've always loved the absolutely unique nature of the Trinity Railway Express rolling stock.  From the sleek trapezoidal Bombardier cars and the boxy, bulldog-ish look of the F59PH locomotives, to the bulbous modern-yet-quirky look of its younger sibling the F59PHI, to the crown jewels of the fleet: the beautiful, sleek, retro-art-deco RDC1's."

While they are no longer active, they still hold court in TRE's coach yard.  But in the timeframe I model, they were still an important part of the daily commute for many thousands of Dallas/Fort Worth area workers, and occasionally some unruly hockey fans.

Thank you AZL for taking a chance on this scheme...hopefully there will be enough Z-Scale Texans or those that appreciate a nice paint scheme on a quality model railroad product to make the run a success.
NOTE: I'm no longer active on this forum.   If you need to contact me, use the e-mail address (or visit the website link) attached to this username.  Thanks.
