There was a Pacific Northwest version recently as a project in the N Scale Railroading magazine called the Spokane International. It had a slightly similar track plan to the Clinchfield but a little wider curves and more operating potential.

Well, it's a CRR "version" if you count the idea that it uses the same size benchwork. The plan actually evolved from another Odegard layout plan (not a layout) based on a connecting railroad between several main interchanges. Really great scenery on gthe SI, tho.

You know I was thinking about something like this being a Dave V. layout...

-Cockpit design
-You could have a two-track main that folds upon itself creating the illusion of 4 tracks
-A switching/town where the Clinchfield yard is and opposite of that your staging

Been thinkin' along similar lines!  Hell, I could make it a real 4-tracker if I kept an interior loop with just staging on the outside (and maybe a branch representing the Milroy Secondary.
