Now seeking Pacific NW N scalers to create a Modutrak-style modular club featuring NP's shared mainline between Seattle and Portland. PM me if interested.

Someone put a lot of effort into what certainly looks like a well-done Photoshop job!

It would be very cool to model just the same.

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

George:  I suspect you're right.  That VW built a railbus wouldn't be at all surprising, and some railway kitbashing one themselves would be practical, but 6-wheel locomotive trucks?  More likely, for a European road, at would have an axle at each end, like their freight wagons.

Thomas:  That doesn't surprise me at all, as many North American railroads did the same thing, with almost any vehicle imaginable.

One of the Colorado railroads had an early Ford with flanged wheels, and drove it to the gas station for fuel.  The local roads were all dirt, so it didn't do any damage, and was easier than bringing the fuel to the railroad.  Everything else burned coal...  C&S I'm thinking, but wouldn't swear to it.

VW is a culture, and people do odd things to them:
