One Less Turntable

While driving home from work I saw the span from the old Frisco (now AGR) turntable here in Pensacola loaded on a flatbed truck. Though it hadn't operated in years it was kinda sad seeing it loaded on the flat bed while some workers were filling in the pit. I had taken some (phone) pics a year or so ago and it was very overgrown.

Here's a few shots from today, and before it was dismantled.

Ultimate insult that a turntable is uprooted and taken away on a truck.

Agreed . . . though you kitbash a couple of those hawt Trainworx flatbeds and you got a neat model.

Perhaps it could be repurposed like this bridge on CPs Pecten Subdivision south of Pincher Creek, AB...
Former Turntable bridge moved here in the 1960s.

I'm with Dave on this one. If they were scrapping it it would have been cut up on site and hauled away. Most likely going to be reused somewhere.
