Walther Cornerstone Prairie Co-Op Elevator Kit

Hey,

This popped up on my infrequent search of the Walthers Website:

https://www.walthers.com/products/layout/structures/prairie-co-op-elevator-kit

I will support Walthers with this purchase because this could replace the ADM Grain Elevator that is really out of place on my layout.  I hope this is a sign of more HO Scale Kits released in N Scale.

Thanks,

Adam

This looks like a nice elevator that would fit in well on a lot of grainger layouts. I really hope Walthers re-releases some of their other Cornerstone Stuctures. I really need a Central Gas kit.

If their website is true, Central Gas will be restocked in November.

I need either of their water tanks.  Keep searching but can't find any anywhere!

YES!! I had asked a guy I knew at Walthers to do in N when they announced t in HO. He said it was very possible. These small coop's were all over the place. Many are either gone or no longer railroad served. The office in the kid is cinder block and would be good for a railroad yard office. AC&Y and NKP both had structures fairly similar to the one in the kit.

They're also great point to start more modern elevator since many of these were built out with this as the central elevator point. I'm probably going to reserve one since I have two I could use this for,

I figure we all have to use PVC and wrap it in some kind of corrugated siding, styrene or printed,

Not to be a downer, but isn't this simply the Medusa Cement structure with Grain Elevator dressing?

Still nice to have it packaged as such, but this could be done fairly easily before. (notwithstanding the fact that Medusa Cement was unavailable for a considerable amount of time)

My only knock against these and the ADM is that the silos are really too short to look appropriate set next to n-scale covered hoppers.   Double would be about right, but I'd take 1.5x the height if they'd offer it.
NOTE: I'm no longer active on this forum.   If you need to contact me, use the e-mail address (or visit the website link) attached to this username.  Thanks.

Yeah, I don't see that at all.  I don't think there is any relation.

This is really cool, glad to see Walthers releasing new kits in N scale.
I’m not here to argue

It certainly fills a need. Or a gap. The need for more grain structures is large.
