On the "old school" 1980s version? If I remember correctly ... remove the handrails from the cab and battery boxes; remove the cab from the body; lift the body from the cab end; lift the handrails from the cab end; slide the handrails and body forward; lift the body and handrails up.On the current version, pretty sure you can lift the entire body off the chassis as it is held on by dimples in the frame at either end.

I have an N scale NW2 that I took the shell off of. The loco fell apart immediately... trucks and drivetrain... I had to get it reassembled by a fellow forum member.Hmm... Kiz can't doanything anymore...
