Rapido FL9 decoder

Got my free decoder in the mail today. Mailed from CT. Have never taken shell off. Is the a dummy plug to remove, then just plug in decoder? No instructions with decoder.
Then power up my NCE Power Cab and program.
 Thanks,
 Joe D

Is there a sheet with an exploded parts diagram in the bottom of the jewel box (under the model's nest)?  That should help you out in figuring out how things are arranged inside.

Well that was easy enough. Will put it on rails in a bit. One thing I noticed is wiring at front is reversed from pix in slideshow from Rapido. Black on right, red on left. ????

Anyone know what KIND of decoder they send you for the "silent" version?  I installed one.  It is an NEM-651 (hurray!), but I would love to know which decoder type it is for JMRI purposes.  The identification logic in the version of JMRI I am running seems to think it is a Digitrax model, but wasn't very specific.

It is most likely a DZ125 or DZ126 since those are the only decoders Digitrax makes with the NEM-651 connector.  If you do some digging around you should be able to find out for sure.  IIRC, those 2 decoders are electrically identical but the microcontroller's firmware is different.  Version 5 (or fifth generation) in 125 and version 6 (or 6th generation) in 126.    CV7 contains the decoder version info (software revision).

Rapido Trains web site on the FL9's says its a Digitrax  6 pin dual mode decoder...no mention of model number.
