How Big Is Your Layout?

Layouts come in all sizes. I was just wondering what the average layout has, spacewise.

My layout (planned) will be 12' by 10' or thereabouts.

Hmm... I live in a tree
house... 4' x 4' tops...

Both of mine are smaller than a 4x8, combined. One is 14x74, and the other is a 28 inch door

My layout is 8.5 inches by 11 inches- which is to say, it is some rough sketches on a pad of paper.

If I live long enough and can still handle the basement stairs, there is a 13' by 27' space that is currently designated "train room" on the one labeled "basement sketch."

Currently the largest footprint is 50x55 feet, but if space is tight we can still fit everything into about 35x40 before dropping modules out. 



Approximately 8 scale miles of mainlie, 12 scale mile round trip if you hit each loop and count the return. 
Two operators are able to get 5 good length trains running continuously; until one of us makes a mistake at the wye...  8)

My N scale layout (s) are 8'10" x 10'6" (was 25'6" x 10'6") and 32" x 48". My Z scale layout (s) are 6'11" x 5' ( L shaped) and 26" x 46". None of them are big enough to suit me but they are small enough to get them done in my forseeable life.  :D
