July 2016 New Release – Part 2

NS – Illinois Terminal and Florida East Coast Central – SD70ACe!

It is another special mid-month release. We are excited to bring to the line FEC SD70ACes in the Rail America livery!

The SD70ACes feature a powerful can motor, dual flywheels, traction tires, directional controlled LED lighting, AutoLatchTM couplers, fine pad printing, optional pilot and plow included and the locomotives come DCC ready.

Nice!    Loving the MCP syrup cars.

Those Railamerica ACes look great too.   One could probably remove the FEC lettering and customize these for any regional line.

Yah, and these units have bee scattered to the four winds what with the delivery of the new GEs.  Really surprised that they did this, I would have thought it would have been a good idea to supplement the GEs with the EMDs and get rid of the SD40-2s but apparently the EMDs didn't perform the way they had hoped so now they are gone... and largely forgotten.  Most are in service, just not on FEC any more, and some have even begun new carriers on shortlines and regionals, though that might end up being a bit premature as well (if they do not perform the way the lines hope that they will).

FEC did not like the SD70-M2, they broke down a lot,  they are much happier with the GEVOS.
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.
