Hi Everyone,

The SW1001 from CESM is here!

https://www.shapeways.com/product/7CRKRTKDD/emd-sw1001-shell-n-scale
http://cescalemodels.com/collections/n-emd-sw1001/products/n-sw1001-detail-parts
http://cescalemodels.com/collections/n-emd-sw1001/products/n-sw1001-windows

This shell is an accurate representation of the EMD SW1001 in N Scale. It is a direct replacement for the Kato NW2 shell with no modifications necessary. You will need:

1x Shell
1x Detail Parts Set from here
Horn of your Choice
Bell of your choice
Grab Irons
.008" Phosphor-Bronze Wire

This kit includes parts to construct versions with drop-steps on their pilots (Conrail, etc.), or without (LIRR, etc.)

You're a poet, and don't even know it. LOL

Ok, maybe I should have said please. But we all know the Kato mech is questionable, and certainly not as smooth as the Bmann mech.

Nice job bringing another loco option into the line up. Will your handrail kit fit the stock LL SW units?

Not sure.

Make it fit the Bmann NW2.

I don't have a bachmann NW2. Is the mechanism the same width as the Kato unit? If so, you can probably manage to fit it. Modifications to the hood width at this point are near impossible.

I applaud the effort!

The mind reels at the different loco models that could be created this way– That are not currently available.

Again props to you dcutting for bringing this to market.

Not sure what everyone is talking about. My Kato nw2 runs beautifully and the mechanism is typical Kato quality.  :P
The Railwire is not your personal army.

Why not the MTL SW1500 chassis?   It's the only one that comes with roller bearing equipped AAR-A trucks...

Now that is one of the funniest tings I've ever heard on TRW!  You're joking, right?

Few people reported slipping gear on the Kato units, but overall, I would say it is like a Bentley compared to a Chevy.  No comparison, really.

The SW1500 had a much higher deck than the SW1001, plus the mechanism requires pickup pads to be mounted to the shell... not fun.
