That P&LE car is cool.

What's the date on that? Does it say 76?

Any of the BN or CSX cars still plying the rails in those schemes under lots of grime and rust?

I highly doubt it... they would have reached their age limit by the mid-2000s and their size wouldn't loan itself to being rebuilt since larger cars are now the norm.

The reweigh date on the P&LE car is March of 1970.

The BN cars were repainted completely so they were clean until they weren't. As for the CSXT patch cars, the ex-Chessie car would have had modest weathering with clean patches and new numbers. The ex-Western of Alabama cars had heavier weathering when they received their CSXT patches. In the CSX era, these cars were not in coal service, instead moving gravel and discarded ties.
