Jerry, Island Model Works is discontuing there N scale line right now. They do seem to be doing something with shapeways. The N SW1001 shell is gone. Richie did get one or two, and do them up in style. I'm hoping for RTR model.

The EMD SW1001.

I'd stab someone I like for a pair of those in Conrail Blue.

Yep, someone did a resin shell, but it sucked. There was no mechanism that fit inside: the walls were too thick.

Yep, that I knew.  Also knew about quality issues.

As for the 0-6-0, would love it one was offered as a quality model.  Definitely could use a couple...

How about a UP SW10.

With all due respect, too much of an oddity.  I have two recommendations though...  First, there was an article on doing this kitbash in N scale in the April 2001 RMC; PM me with your email address and I'll send you a PDF copy of it.  Also, CESM makes a dynamic brake blister for the LV SW pups, albeit missing the fan detail (fail!)  But since the SW10 is a similar alteration you might consider pinging a Shapeways manufacturer, and my bet would be on Wuttermelon, to do a similar add-on for the Life Like SW unit,  maybe even a whole replacement shell for the LL drive.

I wonder what Scale Trains has up their sleeve:

My first reaction was a snotty one like Jason's, but I'm trying to be more positive, outwardly at least.  Given that crew's Athearn background, I'm guessing it will be an EMD product.  Or a Hustler.

My request would be a FM H-10-44 / early H-12-44.

Here!  Here!  H12-44!  Just like the MNS unit would be fine, but in late Milwaukee paint.
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

Milwaukee Road ES-3.  I'd buy a half dozen.

Unless I read it wrong, I thought Atlas made it pretty clear that an S1 would be down the road.

What? All 26 of them? In their 47 different flavors?  :P

Well, if you're going to go all SP on us   , then let's talk about doing an S-6.
