Does Anyone Make This Box Car in N Scale?

I'd like to model one of these Seaboard Airline box cars:

http://canadianfreightcargallery.ca/cgi-bin/image.pl?i=sal28500&o=sal

Is it made in N scale? I have the Microscale decals for it, but no car.

Hmm... that's not all
Kiz doesn't have...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

No one makes that exact car but at it's core is just an Athearn 50' PS-1.  If you could find a door off another model, you'd have a model as close as most manufacturer's models.

Thanks. That's what I was afraid of.

Hmm... Kiz is afraid of
spiders too...

You need a Youngstown camel door, which no one makes in N.  I'm working on one for the Athearn car and just got test samples in from Shapeways.  If they work, I'll let you know.

  Camel wasn't the Door,just the Door Fittings,Rollers,
  Locks and odds and ends.
Youngstown either bought or started Camel early in the
  20th Century.
what is confusing is that Camel could also sell complete doors
  and did.
some Superior and Creco doors had Camel rollers and fixtures,
  which can also be confusing.
Youngstown also sold complete Boxcar sides into the 70s.
all of CB&Qs XM-32 boxcar fleet had Youngstown Sides even if
they were built with Superior Doors.

Thank you!

Hmm...I'd like to thank
you too, but first you'll
have to send me some
bananas...

D'oh! I just remembered Micro-Trains makes a PS 50' plug door box car (32000 series). The plug door is different, but close enough for me! I have dozens packed away, and I haven't seen one in about a month, so I forgot all about them.

Hmm... that explains why
Kiz is always forgetting
to feed me...

The door style and door dimensions are not correct for the prototype on the MTL model, aside from the other non-prototypical issues that exist.  The Athearn model is a better option if you do not care about the plug door style.

They look good.  Will these parts be made available on Shapeways?

The doors shown are slightly but noticeably different than the door on the car I posted - the car door that I posted has those triangle thingys on the lower third of the door. I'll stick with my Micro-Trains cars. Thanks, anyway.

Hmm... Kiz has always
been lacking in technical
language... "thingys"?...

I will make them available once they are perfected.

The doors from the Red Caboose reefer appear to be a better match for the SAL cars.  I presume Bryan had the NH cars in mind...
