I've been hankering to do some Sacramento Northern stuff forever, & that shell/chassis might do the trick!

I've been working on an electric switcher for The Milwaukee Electric Railway and Light (TMER&L).
It's going to live on the new Powerton Junction module on the Modutrak layout.
The shell is a Westinghouse model from Shapeways and fits a BanDai motorized chassis which runs very well.

Other than the headlight location, the Shapeways shell looks dead on. The shell comes with three different roofs and truck sideframes that look to be correct too.

Please stay tuned for a 2016 announcement of an N-Scale kit of this type of Pacific Electric loco. Plans are to cast the shell & smaller detail parts in brass, 3D print the chassis floor which is engineered to fit motor, trucks & pickups from a Kato 11-105 power unit. More details & photos to follow as they become available.

I've been AWOL from TRW and from modeling in general for awhile now. But that's what happens when you meet a beautiful woman and you two hit it off.

Before things got really busy, I was using the time that I wasn't spending at her place to work on a couple weathering projects. No photo-worthy results just yet, but hopefully I'll have some soon.

Great progress!!  I am, however, a little confused by what seems to be a red and a black wire both connected to the near rail just to the right of the switch points in the middle of the photo.  Or, does the red actually pass under the near rail and go over to the far one?

Finally got around to starting my B&M 2-6-0 project.

Is this something I can follow a build thread or blog on, even if it takes 5 years?  I'm very interested in building a chassis for a steam loco my self and have no idea how to do it.
