PC wasn't the only line with bad track back in those days.  I remember standing at the current MARC station in Riverdale watching a B&O freight eastbound runnng what looked like in the mud.  Rails bouncing up and down.  I actually backed away from the row as I thought the train was going to derail.  Made the nearby PC NEC track look good.

Funny, sounds like not much has changed with CSX.
