With the new FBOX from ExactRail coming out, I was able to catch this one with a side view as CSX was swapping cars at their yard in Hanover, PA on Tuesday.

And here is the power sitting in the yard.  In the foreground is probably the power for the D795 (Hanover to Hagerstown) as the an eastbound (not sure of symbol) works to get out of town heading towards Baltimore.  Behind #4048 leading is #8503, also in the new boxcar scheme.

Here is a shot of a car that had derailed in route to my short line. Thanks NS! ETCX #821500

Looks like pix of the N&W Powhatan Arrow observations that ended up in Saudi Arabia have finally surfaced:

Weird what they did to them ...

Ed within the past 6 months.  Photo taken at Riverdale MARC station.  They still have a few of these older units running around.  Went to the farmers market they hold there on Thursdays and just managed to luck out getting this unit.

Ed

remind me tell you the story of how that particular group of engines got their numbers.  Ironically, the engine Bob shot is/was the prototype for the numbering system used on those rebuilds (done by my father when he was CMO for MARC).  I will give you a hint.  72 is my birth year. ;)

Last weekend a CP autorack train lead by a CN C44-9WL and KCS ES44AC waits for a new crew as a single NS C44-9W heads east with an intermodal in tow.
