The problem with pix of brass models is they show different ways the trainphone is attached. One model shows a stanchion in the middle of the cab roof; another has no stanchions in the roof. Which is why a picture of the real thing is desired.

There is a decent side on photo in Penny Power III if you can get your hands on one.  Don't like to scan photos out of books due to copyright issues.

Pennsy Diesel Years,Vol 1,by Bob Yanosey.
page 107 has 8706-8707 going away from the camera pushing a
freight with 2 H&M/PRR Subway cars on flats ahead of the T-Ms.
good shot of the Antenna on the end/rear unit.
pg 122,long hood end of 8704.
pgs 136-137,4 shots, good view of 6708-note this is its assigned PC number.
pg 137,,2 shots of 8705 testing before delievery by F-M,no good antenna shots,
but interesting testing on the Milwaukee Road.

Thanks, Spikre, for all the references but I have neither the books you list nor any access to them (not much PRR interest here in WA). But maybe you could tell me if the cab roof had a radio stanchion on it or not?

the cab does have a half height station/post about in the middle
  of the roof.
the ariel part stays at the same height across the cab roof.
its a straight line across the cab.
see if Jerry Britton can come up with another source.
don't think the color pics would copy well in B&W ??
but they are the better pics.
how about the Pennsy Diesel series volume that covers F-M road switchers ?
the Baldwin Cab and Transfer volume is well done, that series was in the
process of being reprinted, check the Withers Publishing site.

Thanks. I really needed to know about a cab stanchion. The rest of the posts are located logically, there are none mounted in the center of any vents or hood doors, for instance. I figure on using brass to make the end stanchions and thin wire for the feeder wires, then attach a KATO passenger car antenna between the two. Pennsy trainmaster doesn't look right w/o the  antenna.

   OLD East,
the Withers PRR books have one that covers F-Ms,but doesn't
list which models are in it.
it could be All F-Ms used by PRR  ?
if so it would cover H10/12-44s,H20-44s,Erie Builts,C-Liners,
  H16-44s and the Train Masters-H24-66.
will get the Volume number later, but this could be a good guide
for the N scale F-Ms that are available.
