NCE decoder exchange

I believe I read somewhere on here or another forum where someone had said NCE exchanges competitors decoders for 20$ any info on this thanks in advance.

Wasn't it $10? I think I remember that recently. I have an NCE decoder that isn't responding (for a Kato P42) and also a MRC that I'd like to trade in for an additional N12K0a.
BTW, street price for most drop in NCE decoders is about $24.

I sent in two decoders and check for $23 about 2 weeks ago, along with my name, address, phone number and email address and decoders for replacement.  I haven't heard anything and check still has not been cashed.  For now, I will take it as "no news is good news"

Still waiting, check still hasn't cleared thru bank.  Starting to wonder if package is still sitting on receptionist desk.

How good are the decoders by the way? I know they don't have sound decoders but problems or very good decoders?

My fleet is about 50/50 Digitrax/NCE.  I haven't had any problems with any of them.  One thing I will say about a lot of the NCE decoders, they have slots in the board where the motor tabs come up that can be a pain in but to line up, but once you get them, they provide very good contact, and can be made better by adding a small dab of solder to make solid connection.

Package arrived today in the mail with two NCE decoders that I requested as replacements for the two I sent in.  This is very cool !
