Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

Not necessarily...many coaches had 4 wheeled trucks and no matter what we did, it would only be limited to a few prototypes.  If we offered this and the reservations exceeded my wildest expectations, I might be able to make the case to do them.  Just thinking out loud.

Joe

I just figured your standard Micro Trains runner pack is offered in multiples of 4.

As for the 2D-P5 trucks, as cool as it would be for Micro trains to make them, I don't realistically expect them to.  These were unique to Pennsy.  I have some of the AL trucks on hand...not enough to do all the projects I have in the queue plus a runner pack of MTL coaches, but yeah, I'm fully expecting it's on me to find and add proper trucks.

Joe:

And dare we ask for some modification of the roof to match PRR variations?  Or are we getting too upity now?  The P70s were modified into so many different forms that it would be hard to not come close with whatever is possible.

The 2D-P5 trucks would be great.  And the were used for a number of other PRR cars including R50b express reefer, B60b baggage cars and maybe some N&W cars also.

Ms Dee Rayle, have you gotten in trouble for keeping such an exotic pet as Kis?

As for roofs, how about a modular roof that can take variations as cast add on details, or 3d printed offerings?

just 1 brief question
for anyone using the Shapeways 2D-P5 trucks
what wheel sets are you using
I am guessing 36" for certain but not clear on
axle length, knowing they come in different sizes
at least from one manufacturer

To clarify, if you (MTL) offer this runner pack and sales do well, then you (MTL) would consider offering the 2D-5P trucks as a separate item?

Some of those P70s later rode on 2E-P5 trucks.  Doesn't Kato offer these.

According to the trucks entry at Spookshow's site, they're close.  It's what Kato used on some the BL cars.

Maybe there should be some "kitbasher's" runner packs.  All undecs.  Include a coupon for Skytop Models or Shapeways or M&R-

RPO- Baggage- Express Box- Troop Sleeper - Mail Train #1
Mail Baggage-Baggage- Baggage- Troop Kitchen- Mail Train #2
Coach- Coach- Coach- Coach- Commuter (also great for those of us doing a bunch of M&R ATSF chair cars)
Sleeper Sleeper Diner Obs - 1st Class overnight
etc, etc,

In the meanwhile, I buy the roadnames on sale, strip the pant, and make my own undec's.

I gave up rivet counting when I couldn't see an N scale rivet anymore.

For Shapeways 2D-P5 trucks from Trambahner:

Fox Valley Models FVM 3601, i.e. 36" Wheel w/.540" Axle.

(It's a pity that BLMA wheel sets are always sold out.)

Addendum: FUD/FXD is an extremely stiff material compared to Delrin, so the chances to break it when trying to put the wheelsets in are rather good.
