Ditto.  I bought a crap-ton of the 3D-7P2 "diner" truck for other head-end cars. I'd buy at least as many 2D-P5's.

Dave Vollmer:  I didn't!  It really was a serious question.  I looked up "Broad Street", so knew there was a station by that name, but station names change, and stations are closed, so didn't know if there might also have been a "Board Street".  I've heard odder names.

The MTL coach is actually quite close to a P70 and with a few changes can represent one of the P70s many variations.  Here are the relatively simple changes I made to the MTL coach to create a P70R:  added roof vents, lavatory vents, 2D-P5 trucks (predominantly roller bearing from the 1930s on), frosted lavatory windows, window shades, and American Limited diaphragms.  I did not fiddle with the underframe and AC equipment.  And here is the modified MTL car:


And here is a prototype P70R photo from 1936.  Window pattern matches the MTL coach almost exactly.  It is almost identical except for no stripes.  Newly replaced windows have aluminum sashes, but those will be painted red during the next paint shop visit.


And just for comparison, here is a Lima or Model Power modified P70 with ice activated air conditioning added (PRR Parts), 2D-P5 trucks, vestibule steps added, door modified, roof vents added, AL diaphragms, etched glass lavatory windows, window shades, and car-end windows covered over.

Those do seem pretty close to the 1:1 car. Too bad the models do not have silver window frames (but that would be a heck a lot of masking)!

What do you Guys use to re-number MTL coaches. I know it's N scale and using the 3 foot rule you may not be able to see the numbers, but it would be nice to have different road numbers at least on the coaches.

American limited trucks are OOP. And they are also kits, three-piece construction.

I just figured your standard Micro Trains runner pack is offered in multiples of 4.

As for the 2D-P5 trucks, as cool as it would be for Micro trains to make them, I don't realistically expect them to.  These were unique to Pennsy.  I have some of the AL trucks on hand...not enough to do all the projects I have in the queue plus a runner pack of MTL coaches, but yeah, I'm fully expecting it's on me to find and add proper trucks.
