Thanks for the compliments guys. The car really surpassed my expectations. Picking up the ability to do my own artwork for etchings has really brought things up to a new level for me. Things that were impossible to build with conventional means can be done now. I have Bryan Bussey to thank for that.  Without his knowledge I would still trying to poke holes in styrene.

I want to know how you weathered your track. Most prototypical rail I've ever seen. Is it a diorama that doesn't run, see paint on railhead.

It is indeed operational.

That video's such a tease.  We see tiny little snippets of this layout, and the floor.  When do we get to see more, Mr. Lupia?

Ah, the drone footage. The diorama is operational, part of bigger plans. Track is painted with Polly scale rail brown. Ties are airbrushed with RR tie brown. Track is ballasted and then airbrushed with a grimy black/brown mix to simulate road grime. On the grade sand is airbrushed onto the tracks.  I grabbed the shot with my iPhone so the quality is not the best.  The CAD skills were there, Bryan just showed me how to make the artwork for etchings and hooked me up with the place that does them. It took a while but Bryan was patient with the etching Jedi student.

Scott- That is utterly amazing. I have SOOOOOO much work to do to get close to that level.  I have prototype photos that are not as realistic as your model.

Last Train Out of Town

A shark trio special to end the day. The Merchandise transfer run from Camden to Philly.


We had our fourth Op Session today and actually got an entire day's PRSL freight schedule run in less than 4 hours.

In between starting my plumbing repair this morning, and continuing my plumbing repair this evening  I spent a couple hours in the company of Ed K getting a quick tutorial on the wonders of Digitrax and JMRI .  It took me all of about 2 or 3 minutes after getting JMRI up and running that I was sold on it.      Now just have to raise some more funds to move in that direction.  I took along my Gettysburg units and they were caught cruising thru Ed's Windsor St yard.

Where are these frets coming from, Tim?

They were pilot etchings for a Kaslo Shops RS-3 kit which failed to materialize.  I purchased the pilot etchings in anticipation of the Briggs Models replacement sides eventually appearing.  Unfortunately most were damaged or raided for parts.
