Weekend Update 9/13/15

Sorry for the early start . My 40 year old Son is a BMW mechanic and got hit in the face with something . He is good enough to text and is in the ER of an unknown hospital with his boss to see if any bones were broken .  I may or may not have to leave at a moments notice .

My EL business car etchings arrived earlier this week.  Assembly went well and the car is finished.  This is one of the few times that I got the artwork right on the first try.  Very happy with the results.  I am working on EL business car no.1 right now.

I finally decided to use Wheels-of-Time 4 wheel passenger trucks under the NYC 60 foot baggage car. Almost ready for casting !

Thanks for the kind words , he is fine , sometimes the tool will let you know when your body is its backstop . Now that he is tuned up he ought to not make that same error , the bruised face will reinforce the memory every time he shaves for the next week or so .

Richie. Pleased your son is okay. Having been a mechanic back in the late 60's I know only too well how these incidents can happen. That cover shot in Brisbane, Australia would have been hard work for those guys. The temperature can get to 40C during summer and judging by the clothes or lack of some its heading that way in that shot.
Scott, love the whole scene on your RR and Bill that car is looking sweet.

I swear, if it's not one thing, it's another.  First off my Zephyr blows a couple weeks ago, sent to Digitrax for repairs.  Questionable return in time for open house.  So in meantime, I purchase DB150 for backup not realizing I don't have correct equipment to use it correctly off the shelf.  Got things figured out that I can at least use it in the meantime.  So today, I get a package in mail from Hays Bros containing loads for my rock runner train, and I bought some interior cement and grain loads to try.  They are pretty neat idea.  Well, I get loads installed, power up the DB150, start running a train around to make sure trains are going to run for open house.  Get to staging yard along back wall and train starts acting sluggishly.  I figure dirty track but look up and down line just checking things out.  I notice a dark spot of cork, look more closely, it's wet.  Follow water trail up wall to sink supply line.  Copper pipe, dripping on a 90* elbow.  Figure, hey I got push-loc fittings for that.  Yeah, I do.  Except for a 90* elbow    So it's an early trip to Lowes and doing some plumbing repair in the morning for me.
