Portland NMRA National - Trying to meet up

This came up month or so ago, but now the week is at hand.

I will be there, in and out, most days of the convention,

- attending clinics
- taking in one layout tour on Tuesday
- helping a friend man his layout for visitors on Monday afternoon ( he's on the official NMRA tours list )
- hitting the big "Train Show" at the end of the week

I'm posting this because I do not have a good plan for "finding people", but I sure would like to.
So I'd like to get some discussion going about how we Railwire folks can meet up, many for the first time
(other than on the internet).

This one's in Portland, in my back yard, and it's a rare opportunity to see each other personally and socially,
so I don't want to miss it.

Suggestions, please?

A rendezvous point?
Maybe pick a day and time for a "Railwire Lunch" where folks could all meet up and eat together?

( Ha ha... I need to think of a special punishment for the first person who shouts, "Party at Max's House!" )

I wont be there (!) but you need to designate a meet-up point for TRW group picture.  I'd say Friday during the trainshow (or saturday to catch the day trippers) in front of one of the Freemo N layout's at 1100 local (PDT).

Modify as needed.  And good luck.

I think doing it on a Trainshow day is good because a lot of people might only be there for those days.

But I would like to try for a meet-up day earlier in the week so that if  people want to do anything else together,
we can plan that after folks meet in person and can talk for a while.

We will have a large (8000 sq ft) multi-group FreeMoN layout, with Silicon Valley, N-Land Pacific, Pacific NW and Minnesota groups combined. Anyone there, come check us out!

Seems like meeting at a certain time, perhaps in front of of a certain booth or layout, might work...?

I will be there thursday and friday at the MRNS/SPOT layout.

I may be able to be there on Saturday, depending on the medical stability of both our dog and another family member.  Alaska Airlines has early AM and late PM non-stops between YVR and PDX so a full day is a possibility.  Thursday will be decision day.

I'll be there Sunday (tomorrow) through Saturday. I will be on layout tours [LT236, LT340, and LT547] at clinics, and doing every OPSIG/LDSIG event I can find. (Also lucky enough to be an operator on the Bear Creek and Western Wednesday...woo-hoo!)

I am clear Friday morning when the train show is open so meeting up at 11:00 in the morning in front of the Free-moN layout as was suggested would be perfect for me. Great idea!

I am also giving a couple of clinics (twice each) so please drop by if you have the time and interest!
