Does anyone know if the ex-MILW skytops windows were tinted? I have pictures of the domes, but not the skytops....Jim in Minnesota

The Skytops also had tinting on their rear windows; I will try and find some shots. I tinted the windows of my model using stained glass paint.

Mike, Were did you the name decal for your Skyview car? I've got Black Cat decals for the rest of the cars

Tamiya Smoke colored paint works really good for tinting (spray on the inside of the glass).

With Shapeways these days, too bad someone doesn't draw up the Skyview car for everyone to go and get.  Just a thought!

Going by the price I paid for a Shapeways Scenicruiser bus, a shell like that would probably cost over $200 if rendered in FXD.  That is more than a complete and painted/assembled brass model of a similar car (and it is just the shell).  Those 3D printing prices need to come down quite a bit before the technology gets more popular.

Stillman did the domes, I have a few shells but haven't tackled them yet..... glazing it has me shaking!

Mike, What color grey did you use? I use Polly CN Grey #11,but it looks darker than yours. I ordered some Rapido cars and I hope the color is close...Jim in Minnesota

Skytop models make 2 versions of these for $35 for the kit (less T&C). There would be some additional expenses for pain and decals along with windows, but they are still within the range of some of the more expensive rtr cars. Here is their location.
