Pete, don't know if it's much of savings. 21.00 in styrene and wood from Hobby Town USA. I could've
just bought the 150' for 35.00 from Rix.

Yes, $5.95 gets you a PDF file. In N scale, 3 trailers are on a 8.5x11" sheet.  You can print as many as you want.  They suggest photo paper but these are just on card stock.  There are directions on the sheet for what gets scored for folds and what is cut thru. Glued with CA.

Except that you can now build a lot more bridges (or even other structures) with the parts you have left over.  The 150' Rix bridge doesn't go far (about 150 scale feet ;)).

I was hoping that I would have had the time this weekend to get some styrene I-beams, so I could build the next highway bridge on my layout.  I have plenty of square and round tubing left over from a previous project to build the piers.  But, I will need to scratchbuild the railings, because my last bridge project used up the requisite Rix parts.  However, I've been wanting to build railings like these (see below), which were seen all over North Carolina in the 1980s.  I just need to figure out the size of the parts.

What are you using for a frame and wheels?

I just remembered I forgot to post that part.  Printout includes a trailer bottom.   You order wheels and land in gear from deluxe innovations.   They have a specific pack for digcom trailers. Has enough parts to do three trailers.   You can go to digcom facebook pay and find catalog and a sample trailer if you wish to download that to try before buying a file.

I'm thinking of printing a bunch of base holders in WSF from Shapeways as I don't have the means of casting any. But for some installations I won't be needing a holder as it'll just be used as a breakout board for signal bridges with multiple heads.

DFF - Good point. I am using handrails from Plastruct. I bought all they
had and not enough for this overpass section. I have no LHS, cept in
Dallas South or OKC North, just Hobby Town USA in Norman which
is the closes.t

We've got our first signal bridge coming up on the lead into the Lakefront Depot. I'm thinking about building one leg on a PCB base and plugging into the layout the same way as a regular signal.

What signal bridge are you guys going to be using for a CNW(?) prototype?

It seems like options are very limited right now to the two BLMA bridges, 2 Alkem bridges and the unavailable Traincat ones.
