Mr. Dance,

Your weekly output amazes me; roughly equivalent to my annual productivity. And the Helicon shot on the bridge is top notch, not to mention the idea of putting an industry on a moving swing gate!

Built up some first samples for the ongoing Rock Island signal project. ...

Hubba hubba! Nice stuff!

EDIT: Are you making or can you make that PCB available separately? It sure solves a boatload of issues!

Mark, your layout never ceases to impress on every level: mechanical, scenic, operations, electrical, scope, selectivity, and any other category. It's enough to make  a guy want to move to Canada.

Come on up!  We have plenty of room and we need another 30 Million people up here so we can punch our weight globally.... You'll even recognize all the TV shows!

Conducted the first powering-up of the EP-3 mechanism, in DC mode.  :scared: :D  Here's some iPhone video of the event.  8)

Smooth-running.  I'm stoked!  Still a long way to go though, but this is a huge step.

Paper mock-up.  A real model will be there at some point, probably tackled after the track is live and the station platforms are in.

This building I cobbled up for just about nothing:

Was going to have the road turn in front of the gas station, but it made a dark area in the corner so I scrapped the building and put this there:

The road will continue and turn at the cut.

Some scenery.

I found craft store moss in a blender is sweet for ground cover!

And about 2-3 hours shingling and weathering this roof  :-X

Chris, I really like how this little layout you've been showing is progressing.  It all looks
natural and hand-made.  Nice rockwork, trackwork, and the structures are great.
Having fun watching you build it!

I also did my second one, but the LED came off one board and now the decoder is not recognized by system  :x :scared:

It does look great!
I tried some back on my Mt. Coffin & Columbia River layout, and the ground-up moss does add a great texture & color to the ground cover.
However, after time I noticed it both turned brown and became extremely brittle, disintegrating into dust.
Maybe I didn't use enough glue.

One of Jeff Arnold's awesome Prairie Shadow gondolas has seen better days while waiting to be barged at the Lake Angelo barge station. The gondola is carrying industrial cooling equipment - in this case HO scale Rapido Budd coach battery boxes, trimmed and mounted in place to represent roof top equipment.... hey; works for me......  ;)

Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Did you use moss from outside? My craft store moss says "preserved" on the bag and yes I used tons of glue. Besides the texture the vivid colors are what is so nice about it.

Baconrail 20, part of the BOCS, is on its way back from a trip out west.

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

Can't find the picture of the exact bag I used, but I got it from Michaels & it looked a lot like this:
http://www.michaels.com/ashland-preserved-moss-80.75-cu-in-forest-green/10407975.html#q=moss&start=9

The fading wasn't nearly as annoying as the disintegrating into dust.
All I could think of was I was breathing in spores from a sci-fi flick.

But yours looks great!  :D
