Just saw the July weathered cars on BLW.  2 car set of the "Creation of Adam" cars.

I think they may have done it on a few of the other weathered cars, but I think it's interesting that the ICG car hasn't been offered in that scheme before now. I may just have to get one of those.

Yes, they have done this on a few occasions.  Last one that comes to mind is The Anderson's 56' General Service Tanker, with the skeleton in coffin on one side.

The ICG car is nicely done, although I will pass as I did on the Reading car because the bodystyle is not prototypical.  The religious cars I can do without.  Waiting to see the spotted rust treatment applied to one of the prototypically-accurate bodystyles before I buy one.

MTL should do more major railroads with the weathered cars, especially with that great rust-out look. Almost  everybody could justify having a Class 1 RR car on their layout, so there'd be plenty of sales opportunity. A great example would be any filthy, rusted, faded-'50s-logo SP boxcar  -- where all you can make out is the faded logo and the faded car number.

Yes, but I'd want the effect on one of the bodystyles that is accurate as well as the paint scheme being accurate.  So for me, that limits the options.  Any of the USRA steel boxcars would work for the transition era.  The 60' Greenville boxcar and any of the covered hoppers would work for the later eras.

Honestly my only issue with the ICG car is its not in a road number series of any ICG rolling stock.  There were plenty of boxcars of that size and style all over when I was a kid - hence why I want one - but the number is wrong.

I could swear the number sort at rrpicturearchives.net didn't return anything in that series. I sit corrected.
