Looks at the weathering on the side of the hood and the fenders.  Also note the straighter license plate.

I think the bumper looks fine, but put the stock bumper in the middle. If you want a finer rail just make some out of 3 different pieces of styrene.

I'll try that.  The reason why I mounted it where I did was to allow the license plates to rest on the bumper.  But I think I can I have a solution...

I'm not sure how tall was the original rail  :tommann: used, but if he decides to model code 30 rail (or 0.030" tall I-beam), he would have to to use something like two 0.010"x0.030" and one 0.010" X 0.010" pieces of styrene strip.  Not only that is wicked tiny but I don't think anybody makes a 0.010" x 0'010" strip.

And the rail used on the 1:1 truck was probably much smaller than what code 30 represents in N.

So here are some ideas.

What if you used c40 rail, but instead of a double rail bumper, use a single rail but turned on its side, effectively using the rail overhang to cheat the eye for a double bumper.

What if you used a channeled style instead of I beams?
 The catalogue shows all offered, but I don't know what sizes will work.

Ok, so I moved up the rail bumper, which I agree looks a lot better.  I'm happy with it now.




BTW: check out how nice the rear wheel hubs are.  You can see a hex shape!
