Speaking of the ER Waffleside boxcars - has it ever been determined what happened to the MDC PS waffleside boxcar tooling?

It has never been released by Athearn.

I know they had it for a while. It may have been damaged when changing suppliers. They did retire a few MDC models like that strange hi-cube box that has no prototype.
