The R design is sweet.  Rarely seen in these parts though.  Just got myself a new S60 T5 E-drive.  Turned in my 2012 S60 T5.  Can't believe how much technology they've added in just 3 years.  This car does everything but drive itself--and it almost does that, too.
 
 There are Volvo models on the Spur-N website (http://www.spur-n.com/) from a manufacturer called A2 models.  They list a number of '56 Amazons, 56' 544's, and some '61 1800's in 1/160.  Yet to find any modern Wowos though.

Love the n-scale volvos.  I am bashing a 245 from a Kato Toyota but I think I'll get some of the real thing.  We've only owned three real  :)Volvos, a 1982 245 for 24 years, a 1990 245 DL for 25 years and our new XC70.  I guess we are hooked.

I started with a '99 S70GLT.  After 140k miles, traded it for an '07 S40.  Bad choice--small and noisy.  Didn't like the older S60's, but love the current style that started with the 2012 model.

As for models, also found a modern version of the S70 wagon on the SpurN site, under a manufacturer called Pro Hobby.  Tried to add pictures, but the only picture site I have access to at present is Railimages, and the pics won't import as a IMG.  Link if interested... http://www.trainboard.com/railimages/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=2729

It says they used Micro Krystal Klear for the windows on the samples. I wish I knew how to achieve results like that as I always seem to get that shrunk-in-the-middle, concave look. Whereas, they got a nice, even convex shape. I've even tried letting the model dry upside down without much success.

Try using a little more KK, and make sure the openings are hanging straight down. There's a bit of artistry applying this stuff. I always try to pull out in the center for my last action, with the openings already in a straight down position.

It should be noted that A2's vehicles (although well-proprtioned) look like they are made of sugar. They come pre-decorated in computer-generated faded-looking colors. I had a heck of a time trying to make mine look good enough to not be background only. I tried spraying one with several coats of surface primer and that sugar stuff seems to just drink it in. I gave up after a while.

Loved my '04 S40, learning to love my '14 S60. It tries too hard to think for me.
I got to know it really well last Aug. While on a trip to Colorado from Washington State, my mother became gravely ill in NY State.
Left Western Washington at 5am Sat. Got off of 17 in Owego, NY Monday 8:pm as the trip meter hit 3000m.
Averaged 70mph and 34mpg.   80 to 100mph bursts are swift and silent. Finally got the seat adjusted correctly in Nebraska.
   Turned out Mom got better and is doing really well for 90.
We left the following Sat, but took a leisurely 4 days to return. 6000m in 7 days of driving.

 The steering wheel became like a game controller on some cruel video game, but with no FIRE PROTON MISSILE button. 

Volvos are like that Jeep thing, if I have to explain it, you wouldn't understand!

Those do look nice and I see it says they're 1:160, which I appreciate since the lines between 1:160 and 1:150 seem to be blurring more and more all the time.

Well the trick is that you just need some transparent foil. Cut this into the right size. Templates with correct window sizes are added in the build instruction downloads.
Then bend the cut-out. Then glue it with Microscale Krystal Klear. It is really quite easy.

We've had four of these, albeit at 12 inches to the foot, current one still in servie w/ 370,000 mi.  So I'll have have to have at least a few of these for my layout.

X600: Long trip for sure.  Glad to hear your Mom is doing better.  I'm guessing some of those features made that trip a little easier.  Owego is right down the road (14 miles) from my last childhood home (Endwell).  Mom still lives in Binghamton.  Gives me a chance to do a little sleuthing for the layout when ever I visit.  Know what you mean about the steering wheel controls.  It's like a game console.  But my wife's Mazda is almost as complicated, and the layout of her controls is even more confusing.

Working on a google site for the layout so I can put up some links to pictures.  Hope to get something up soon, when time permits.  Have a safe trip back home.
