Jos,
I'm curious as to how much time it takes you to build one of those tree models (the are so detailed I consider each to be a standalone model)? I would also like to ask you whether you build the tree one at a time or in batches?

Thank you Nate and Ed!
peteski: Helas yes they are time "consuming" comparing it with making trees "out of the box( woodland for example..)
Today it takes me about 15-20 minutes to make a -scotch-pine- firtree from about 5-8 inches.of course making them in a row= 5-8 trees
Deciduous trees take some minutes longer= most time will be "consumed"by making/bending the frame of floristic wires.
Time , to me, is not that important ... .to make a"forest" will take me about a month."Forest" means: about40 trees of 7-9 inches....
I want to put as much detail/efforts in the trees as in the -for example, buildings or rolling stock how it is made today!
I don't like to watch/see locomotives/trains that are well/super detailed driving close to trees that are made of only clump foliage/reindeermoss with a trunk made of just a piece of wood or shiny plastic.
The "green"stuff deserves the same attention as the rolling stock and buildings on a layout!

Wow. I'm still staring. Possibly the best modeled trees I've ever seen in ANY scale.

Great to have you here. I remember being inspired a few years ago to try your techniques.

Those pics are stunning realism. I want trees like that around my layouts main focal areas.

Oh stupendous. Just what I needed. ANOTHER talented modeler to make me look inferior. Like there aren't enough of those on the Railwire now.
No, but seriously... those are some really fine trees. Simply outstanding. And your rock work is too shabby, either. Welcome Jos.

Welcome, Jos!
Glad to see you here.
Your work was the inspiration for the oaks on my Shoofly Free-moN Module:
http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/magazine/mrh-2013-11-nov/shoofly-scene
Though your end product is much, much better than mine, with great highlights and bark detail.
I'm more of a "good enough" craftsman modeler, as opposed to your quality art: whenever someone asks me about my trees, I refer them to yours:
http://www.modelrailroadforums.com/forum/showthread.php?5015-How-to-Make-Trees-and-Shrubs/page2
Very glad you're now here to share your great work in our community.
Looking forward to all your magic!
Cheers!
