Has anybody here seen in person any of these GN EB GP9 TTs w/DCC? I hear of them selling on eBay, some websites list them but say sold out, some list and say advance order, some don't list anything about them at all. My store isn't answering my queries about my order. What the heck is the story here? Is there a GeeP fairy going around putting GN locos under various people's pillows randomly?

..... we bring our stuff into Prince Rupert in northern BC.... off the beaten track but a CN terminus and so far (knock wood) not suffering massive delays.... a few days here and there but stuff moves pretty well...... (now that I've said that we'll probably bog down for six weeks....)
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

The GN units are on the way to us.  They should arrive here around the last week of March or first week of April, depending upon how quickly they clear customs and get the container to us.

There is the possibility the container is being held for ransom by Somali pirates, I suppose....

Well, no.  They have all been shipped to distributors two to three weeks ago, so they should be available.

BLW now lists the GN SD9 w/TT and DCC as available.  The non-DCC are sold out.

M.B. Klein (www.modeltrainstuff.com) doesn't list any.

Get 'em while you can.

Thanks, Atlas, for finally coming through on these. I've had a pair on reserve for forever and its nice to know they're on their way to me.

There seems to be a lot of interest in these locos. What passenger trains were they used on? Can they be used with Kato's smoothsides?

Yeah, the GN models sold out pretty quick. They were used as passenger train power but I don't know on what trains and when.
