Thanks for plug, Pud!

A bit of background on the CPR cars: They were built in 1929 as "River" series lounge buffet observation solarium cars (no revenue space), but with coming of the Great Depression these luxury cars were withdrawn from service and stored. However WWII caused a huge upsurge in traffic and the cars were  rebuilt into ' 4 bedroom 1 compartment buffet observation solarium' form and renamed in the "Cape" series. They were the signature cars on many CPR trains and the last of them remained in service on the Mountaineer (St. Paul - Vancouver summer only) until the late '50's. After they were finished in revenue service, many found second lives as business cars thanks to their easily adaptable room arrangement. A few still exist in museums in Canada, including one that was converted back to its original "River" arrangement (at the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel in Cranbrook BC -a great museum, by the way).

Resin models of this car are available at Central Hobbies in Vancouver.
