As the once busy Northern Lehigh Line corridor almost went complely dead, it's being upgraded one project at time to handle more unit train traffic.

Also NS and RBMN completed an upgrade on signaling and the transfer yard in Packerton (just south of Jim Thorpe) With the explosion in Intermodal in Allentown, and connections in central PA becoming important once again this area is getting its second life.
