Well I guess I am first up this weekend.

Summer vacation travels interfered mighty heavily with hobby time.  I did manage to make some progress on the mill areas west of Castlegar.

The start of the Pope & Talbot sawmill...the loading building on the west end.

And then continued work on the Celgar pulp mill parking lot and paved areas

I assembled one more TrainCat tank car platform (thx Gary!) and painted and weathered them both

Oh, at an ops session last week Tim convinced me the whole area needs some protection from errant elbows and such so I added a plexi panel to the fascia.

Have a great weekend!

I put together my depot for Reedpoint, available from the Northern Pacific Historical Association company store.

I spent the past week working on the upper level of my layout expansion (including "WC running!"). All the track is down, wired, detected, switch motors installed, and 90% of the signaling is complete. Here's a little video I put together showing an eastbound SP manifest making its way from Marcel to Summit Switch on the newly expanded upper level.

Well; back to the bench.... and some "three finger (well; two fingers and a thumb) weathering".....

Not too often you'd see three Pacific Great Eastern 50' boxcars all together off PGE rails but today we caught three at Stratton Brewing in Northhill.

I weathered all three trying to gte a five year in service look... not too weathered, not to clean....
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Awesome! Are you going to model big timber Montana by chance? I grew up there, 20 miles west of reedpoint.

Thanks, but no Big Timber for this layout!  I love this often overlooked area of Montana.
