Aside from Trainworx, BLMA, ESM, Atlas (and Exactrail  ) ???? Seriously, those Trainworx and BLMA gons are awesome!

I'd like an Espee correct 52' Thrall gon as much as the next guy, but there's been some good gondola love in recent years.

Hopefully it is a 60' bulkhead flat or a riveted gondola 14 panel if not it would be cool to see a pipe gondola!

Yeah, I'm leaning towards an Espee style 53'6" flat car (such as a F-70-6/7/8/10 class) for lumber service. Suitable boxcars seem to be built later than 1953 (on the SP).

Joe @ MTL has been hinting at a riveted SP F70 style end brake wheel flat for two years or more.

I like flatcars as much as anyone, but as far as gons go, there is a sad absence of  65' cars from the 60-80's out there....

No complaints, just speaking up for the gon lovers out there....

Is that car riding on friction bearings in 1985?  When were friction bearings finally and irrevocably eliminated from interchange service?

I'd probably be in for a couple of these if the guess is right.

A lot of older trucks were able to be changed to roller bearing with little to no visual indication.  While some roads removed the little access door that use to have to be used to grease friction bearings others left the door on the trucks.  Still roller bearing equipped but just not obvious.

1/1/94. Surprisingly late. Many RRs restricted them by their own rules much earlier. The conversions Jerry alluded to were illegal after 1/1/95. Problem was that even with the doors off, hotbox detectors could not accurately read the temperatures.

The original was built by ACF in 1953 for C&NW . Bet this is it .

The Morning Sun "SP F&PEG" probably will yield the answer of a plentiful SP car built in 1953 and 1963.  Keep in mind that WOT tries to be as close to prototype as possible when it comes to paint schemes.  So while the car most likely will be an SP prototype, it will be one that was owned by enough non-SP roads to justify enough paint schemes for at least two releases.

Housing boom needs commuter service , the goods are individual wads of money they take home . If it is a flatcar or gondola they WOOD make more money if they just produced a wood load that was sized to fit a particular manufactures flatcar , better yet different size load to fit different many manufactures flatcars . Here's a question . what freight car or passenger car would remain the same in production runs ten years apart in that era . Weren't there an emergence of many design enhancements in that decade ?
